Ringing in the New Year at Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle

When the couple picks New Years Eve for their wedding day, you know it is going to be an amazing celebration. And this one did not disappoint.

The day started early with a brunch and Garba, an Indian dance performed at festivals and special occasions. The ballroom was laid out to have the tables and lounge seating for guests surrounding the happy couple in a circular shape with different heights of candles, plants and flowers in the center for everyone to dance around. Everyone looked so amazing in their bright and colorful traditional outfits .

We kept the centerpieces very simple, low brass bowls with floating candles, petals and a few blooms. Greenery tucked under the bowls to have them pop a little on the gold linen.

After the brunch, guests had some time to relax, enjoy downtown Seattle and get ready for the cocktail hour and reception. Siri’s outfit change was the perfect blend of traditional Indian style and neutral tones, it was gorgeous.

They were able to get some photo ops in the iconic Fairmont Olympic Hotel lobby and stairways. They did a private reveal for the reception space right as cocktail hour was starting. It was the perfect moment for them to see their vision come to life.

Cocktail hour was in a separate space than the reception. It felt like another party, with hints in the decor of what is to come for the reception. Gold accents, tropical arrangements and the same sophisticated style that awaited them for dinner and dancing.

The magic of LIghtsmiths was in full effect for this dance floor. Creating a structure that resembled a ceiling, a space and an unforgettable dance floor that we were able to add the finishing touches of flowing greenery and a variety of tropical leaves along with pops of dainty white orchids, it was truly a team effort. The lights tucked in the foliage and around the sides reflected perfectly on the hanging disco balls and mirrored flooring. Disco jungle is what the couple asked for and pretty sure we nailed that! A statement piece that invites you to spend the whole night under it with loved ones making the best memories, dancing the night away.

Their design started with black, white and gold in their accents and details. Add in tropical foliage and lots of candle light and together it creates a sophisticated design. The results were amazing and really beyond what we all had in our minds. There wasn’t just one show stopping element, but everything was in this design.

See What We Offer

Walking into the room we wanted to really take the guests breath away. Heading up the stairs to the tables they were met with moody black linen tables with gold accents that were full with romantic candlelight. Some of the tables had gold chandeliers hanging over the table with a grouping of different sized candles in the center of the table. The other tables had tall arrangements of lush tropical leaves and greenery. The design looked so good in the tall and open ballroom and really filled the space.

See More Of Our Work

This was such a memorable wedding for not only the couple and their guests, but for us as well. To see everything come together (with booking a month out!) because of an amazing vendor team, a lead planner like Danae from Perfectly Posh Events and the flexibility of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, on such a busy night like New Years Eve. It takes a village and this one is proof of that.

Favorite detail? We can’t choose just one. The gold on the place settings and chargers were perfection against the black linens. The fern under the simple and elegant menu, we are obsessed. The plants placed around the reception area, yes please! We could go on and on about the details. Each element was the perfect addition to make this whole design memorable.

What’s better than one cake? Multiple from the delicious Deep Sea Sugar & Salt. They looked so modern with our candles and florals tucked around them to show them off.

New Years celebration must, a champagne tower! Perfectly poured for toasts and celebrating the happy couple.

Dancing, the countdown, confetti cannons and ringing in the New Year with your friends and family, this couldn’t have been a better celebration! The aftermath was proof that you should consider having your wedding on NYE at a gorgeous hotel in downtown Seattle.
