Modern Wedding in Ocean Shores, WA

On the Washington coast there is a little resort community inside a popular seaside town. This new community is called Oyhut Bay Resort and it is adorable! We were so excited when our bride’s told us they would be the first wedding at the new event center right in the heart of this resort town. The venue is spacious and versatile for any style. We loved the natural light inside the space and the exposed wood beams. Even better was the accordion doors that opened to let that sea air in. Outside is a gorgeous area perfect for outdoor ceremonies with a large greenery hedge as the backdrop and a lush lawn. A suite inside for getting ready as well as a space upstairs to get ready in and be separate from each other until the first look. So many places for great photo ops.

Jenny & Nhan are both designers and had a vision of their floral design for their day. Working with them was a dream, their ideas, organization and trust with our partnership to make the floral exactly as they wanted it. Looking at their dress and suit choices you could tell that their modern and funky style would shine through the entire day. Nhan’s lapel corsage was a favorite to design. Long, lush that matched the bouquet, but also was so unique. A close friend was their officiant and as a special addition for her, they wanted to have her wear floral earrings and a hair clip. We loved how the anthurium earrings came together to make a statement.

They wanted bright, unique colors and patterns, and to be visually interesting but also for the florals to feel quirky, queer, simple and elegant. We loved brainstorming on the palette, style and details with them. We came up with a design of a mix of textured florals along side tropicals for bold moments.

Muted tones with bright pops of yellow, orange and purple were the perfect mix. Muted mauve orchids were the star in the lapel corsage and bouquet. They couldn’t have matched Nhan’s pants and shoes more if we tried! Jenny’s modern, asymmetrical bouquet was the perfect style for her soft and flowing dress. They both looked so gorgeous!

Their first look was on a dock at the canal that flows through Ocean Shores. It was the perfect place to have an intimate vow reading and to take in how beautiful they both looked. The weather was perfect, cloudy but not cold, and not too hot or windy. Every detail was coming together for them.

The altar was a mix of different sized modern stands with flowers at varying heights and styles. Some lush with texture and color, some that were minimalist and modern. We set them to look as though they are surrounding the couple while they are saying their vows.

The aisle had modern arrangements of orchids, ginger, pin cushion protea and other soft florals to give a structured look. The colors really popped against the grass on the ceremony lawn. This space was the perfect backdrop for the colorful florals.

See What We Offer

One of our favorite moments was Nhan & Jenny meeting each other at the beginning of the aisle to then walk together down to the altar. We loved this detail so much. Just look at their faces when they see each other…just pure joy!

Jenny & Nhan designed the signage. They greeted the guests at cocktail hour, led them to their seats and explained what they would be enjoying at dinner. The design and colors brought everything together, but still let it feel eclectic, fun and unique.
