Renaissance Affair at Maroni Meadows, Snohomish.
Sometimes when you see or hear about a themed wedding, it can get very cheesy, very quick. And even though this can happen, we knew taking on the Renaissance-themed wedding was a bold leap—stepping away from modern trends, could only be incredibly rewarding to see the vision come to life—every detail steeped in story and elegance, and the couple overjoyed by a design that felt truly unique. And from the beginning of the design process and hearing all the ideas and details Brynna & Chris had envisioned for their amazing day, we knew we had to go all in and it would be unforgettable.
The venue was the perfect place to start with a Renaissance couple. Little buildings for getting ready, tucked in the woods and butted up against a field made for perfect photos. A large arbor to stand at their ceremony, while moss covered trees were all around the tent that held the reception. Paths that lead to the tarot card reader, the bar and the photo booth were flanked by beautiful flowers, shrubs and flowing ivy.
Not only did they ask their wedding party to lean into getting into character, but their guests were dressed head to toe in wizard, fairy, knights and peasants costumes. They really went all out to help transform the day to another time in history. It was so amazing to see their loved ones gather and embrace what the couple wanted for their day.
The ceremony arbor had custom fabric pennants hanging from the wood structure with flowing flowers and greenery along the top. We used the perfect color toffee roses, hanging amaranthus and large burgundy anthirium to create a unique and on-theme design. The aisle was lined with lanterns that were accented with moss and greenery vines.
At cocktail hour the guests were entertained by live music and the most delicious charcuterie boards. They grabbed a cocktail and sat at the tarot reader to see what their cards had in store for them. Acrobats performed, statues came to life, it really pulled you back into another time in a far away land.
Long wood tables lead the guests into the reception tent to feast their eyes on so many details as they sat to celebrate. They found their seats with personalized mini scrolls laid on top of velvet napkins in emerald green. Vintage candleabras were perfect accents to the long flower arrangements that included unique floral and fauna. Mushrooms, moss, thistle and more was an unexpected texture to the floral. The couple, dressed as a noble lord and lady, are seated in regal handmade wood thrones under a greenery canopy, toasting to love, loyalty, and a prosperous future.
The bride is an amazingly talented artist, who created the custom crest and made a 3D printing of it, that Blue Box Bakery used to make the silicone mold for the fondant crest. She also incorporated a sentimental Scottish thistle and their family tartan! This cake was unreal in person.
As twilight settles over the festivities, the celebration takes on a magical glow. Suddenly, the crowd gathers in hushed anticipation as a fire-breathing performer steps into the open space. With a dramatic flourish, they ignite the air—sending plumes of flame dancing skyward in a breathtaking display of controlled power and artistry. Guests cheer and gasp in delight as flames spin, twirl, and roar to the rhythm of medieval drums. The spectacle not only dazzles the eye but heightens the sense of wonder and revelry, making the night feel like a scene from a royal festival of old.
From medieval feasts to ceremonial dances and handfasting rituals, every detail was woven with the charm and majesty of the Renaissance era, offering a truly unforgettable and timeless celebration. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day for this sweet and unique couple.
We aren’t the only ones obsessed with this theme, couple and entire wedding. Rock N Roll Bride Magazine over in the UK loved it too. We had a feature in one of their 2024 issues.
