Dark and moody elopement styled shoot, Manchester State Park

We have wanted to do a shoot or even a wedding based around Halloween with a focus on the couple having amazing skull makeup. So when Kari, a model we worked with last Spring asked if we wanted to collaborate with a few other vendors to bring this small shoot together, we jumped! And man, did it turn out so amazing.

We headed to Manchester State Park near Port Orchard late in the day. This was the perfect setting for a dark and moody vibe with the trees surrounding us and their amazing buildings they have. The empty buildings gave the best shadows and perfect amount of spooky to the shoot.

We had some fun with the florals. A head piece made of small succulents and dried bits. Mostly dark but with a splash of neutral to stand out against our bride’s hair and the moody background. The bouquet had fresh dahlias in a deep burgundy with dried marigolds to pop. A large succulent plant was the focal with different dried elements all around it. The texture and colors just really worked against the gorgeous black velvet dress and really worked with the fresh and dried blooms with the whole theme of the shoot.

We styled a little sweetheart table. We designed this showing that you can have a simple design with a big impact. Dark green velvet table linen to cover the small table. Bud vases with dark and moody blooms, simple and not bulky. And candles…lots of candles! And there you have a romantic table for two.

Into the woods they went with leather and love. We are so happy to have been a part of this shoot and to work with such talented people to bring this to life. Perfect timing too, right before All Hallow’s Eve!

Amazing team that pulled this all together. You can find them all on Instagram!
