Cool and Eclectic Intimate Gathering, Ballard, WA
I met Mandy in 2018 or 2019 when she was the photographer for a styled shoot we were doing. We instantly connected with her quick humor, funky style and of course her photos! Since then she has taken our head shots, photos of our studio, shots of our merch line and just been an all around rad vendor friend. So when she asked if we would design her flowers for her wedding, we said absolutely we will!
From the start I knew three things, Mandy was going to DIY a lot of the decor and they would be amazing…she’s crafty! That the flowers would have funky elements that I could go wild with and lastly, that this couple was ridiculously crazy about each other. It was so fun putting together the ingredients for her bouquet. Texture, asymmetrical with a whimsical touch, it ended up being pretty large and in charge. When the groom’s mom said that is Mandy in bouquet form, I knew I nailed it!
With the most amazing color palette the wedding party was wearing we were able to bring in some neutrals, dried elements and lots of texture to the florals. An eclectic, boho vibe that wasn’t just trendy but reflected their style. Bouquets that brought in all the colors the ladies were wearing and mostly dried elements for the guy’s boutonnieres.
Their venue, Cathedral in Ballard, is one of our favorite small venues. The brick wall was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. Mandy made the moon and we hung the stars to bring in the whimsey.
The bride had collected a bunch of bottles in all different sizes and shapes. Some vintage and some because it would match perfectly! We added flowers, hops and painted fans to them. It was so simple but worked so well in the space and for their intimate gathering.
It was such a perfect day for them. A stop in the record store for amazing photos, their adorable kids joining in the celebration and little meaningful details their guests would remember like a tattoo artist and records as their guest book. She really put her heart and soul into the details and reflecting her and Taylors personalities and style throughout the day.
We can’t thank this amazing couple enough for letting us be a part of their amazingly, beautiful day. And for a continued relationship as our photographer and cheerleader!
